Mak’s Noodle Legacy

Serving authentic and affordable wonton noodle

Originated from Guangzhou, China in 1920, Mak’s Noodle was founded by Mak Woon Chi and renowned for its wonton noodle. Its founder had served this dish to the former president of the Republic of China, Chiang Kai-shek. During the Second World War, Mak Woon Chi moved and started the very first Mak’s Noodle in Central, Hong Kong. From an open air street stall, Mak’s Noodle developed to an eatery with indoor seating.

Skinny-built Mak An succeeded his father’s business as the second generation of Mak’s Noodle. Mak An managed to create Mak’s Noodle to be a household name for wonton noodle in Hong Kong. He then handed the business over to his son-in-law, Tony.

Tony brought Mak’s Noodle to greater heights. From a small eatery, Mak’s Noodle expanded to a chain of 6 eateries all over Hong Kong (The Peak, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay, Jordan, Tin Hau, including the original eatery in Central). Mak’s Noodle was also branded to be the “Best Wonton Noodle in Hong Kong”. With Tony ensuring to follow the exact recipe being handed down to him from the founder of Mak’s Noodle, its taste remains unchanged for almost 100 years.

Bringing Hong Kong to Singapore

After a few visits to Hong Kong, the Director of Asia Gourmet P/L managed to persuade Mak’s Noodle to open their first franchise outlet in Orchard, Centre Point. Known as a family establishment with traditional methods, our chef even looks into the quality of the ingredients which is directly shipped from the branch in Central, Hong Kong to Singapore.

Our promise is to ensure 95% of similarity in taste just like the restaurants in Hong Kong.

Honolulu Café

Founded in 1940s by the late Mr Yeung Jin Hei, Hong Kong’s treasured café, Honolulu Café also fondly known by locals as ‘Cha Chaan Teng’.Well-known for its flaky pastry and soft egg custard center, Honolulu Café’s egg tarts utilises a time-tested method by freezing the dough overnight to fold 192 layers for a crispy and flaky shell. The egg tarts are baked daily to ensure freshness.

Besides the famous Egg Tarts and Hong Kong Milk Tea, Honolulu Café has also selected many popular items from its existing Hong Kong menu to provide diners with a more authentic Cha Chaan Teng experience. To ensure that the well-loved taste of Honolulu Café remains as similar as possible, the Singapore kitchen in Honolulu Café’s will be helmed by carefully selected chefs from Hong Kong’s Honolulu Café.

We had officially opened Honolulu Cafe inaugural international outpost in Singapore in the heart of the town, Centrepoint . Since operating its first outlet in Centrepoint Orchard Road in May 2016, Asia Gourmet which brought in the franchise feels that it is timely for Honolulu Café to expand. The second outlet was opened on March 2017 in the bustling Westgate Mall, the Hong Kong bakery café offers a wide array of more than 31 baked items, all freshly made in the premise by chefs from Hong Kong. In addition, the new outlet has a special focus on Hong Kong style breakfast, something that is unique in Singapore.

Our Mission:
For diners to experience what an authentic 茶餐厅 feels like, tasting our signature items in the comfort of our own hometown, instead of flying all the way to Hongkong.

BUONA TRATTORIA

1st June 2017 – Italian gastronomy, in the form of pizzas and pastas, has fast become a popular cuisine in Singapore. In addition, locals are developing a taste for more authentic flavours and cooking methods. It is in response to this growing demand that home-grown brand, BUONO TRATTORIA, was launched, serving up affordable and authentic hand-made pizza and pasta in a casual setting.

Nestled in basement two of Vivocity Shopping Mall, BUONO TRATTORIA offers an unpretentious ambiance to bring the whole family for a hearty meal. The kitchen is helmed by Chef Aloysius Lim, who has more than 20 years of experience behind him in Italian, Spanish, Mexican and American cuisine.

BUONO TRATTORIA’s pledge to its diners is to prepare its pizza dough with love daily. All the dough is made in small batches and hand-kneaded to ensure customers get the freshest pizza crust, carefully paired with a wide and fresh selection of toppings.

"Buono Trattoria was created as we saw a demand for authentic, high quality Italian fare that is also good value for money. We hope to become the restaurant of choice for families and friends who want to partake wholesome Italian fare in a casual and convivial environment".
